Tiler Peck, born in Bakersfield, California, began dancing at age 2 in her mother’s studio and later studied with distinguished instructors, including former Bolshoi Ballet and NYCB dancers. She entered the School of American Ballet at 12 and became an apprentice with New York City Ballet in 2004, joining the corps de ballet in 2005. Peck was promoted to soloist in 2006 and principal dancer in 2009.

She has performed leading roles in Balanchine works like Allegro Brillante, Apollo, and The Nutcracker (Sugarplum Fairy), as well as in Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and Romeo + Juliet. Peck has also appeared in works by Jerome Robbins, Christopher Wheeldon, Justin Peck, and others, creating roles in numerous contemporary ballets. She played the title role in Little Dancer at The Kennedy Center and has appeared on Broadway in On the Town and The Music Man.

Peck’s film credits include Ballet 422, Ballet Now, and NY Export: Opus Jazz, and she has been featured in Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch.” Her honors include a Dance Magazine Award (2016), Forbes’ "30 Under 30" (2014), a Princess Grace Statue Award (2013), and nominations for the Bessie Award and the Clive Barnes Award.
