Tyler Donatelli-Houston Ballet (Dec. 23-24)

Tyler Donatelli, born in Huntington Beach, California, trained at Southland Ballet Academy and was awarded silver at the 2012 Youth America Grand Prix and first in ballet at The Music Center Spotlight Awards. She joined Houston Ballet II in 2013, became an apprentice in 2014, advanced to corps de ballet in 2015, and rose to first soloist by September 2022. Donatelli's notable performances include Stanton Welch's The Nutcracker (Clara, Sugar Plum Fairy), Cinderella, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle; George Balanchine’s Serenade, Jewels, Stars and Stripes (Liberty Bell); Trey McIntyre’s Peter Pan (Tinkerbell); and roles in Justin Peck’s Year of the Rabbit and Under the Folding Sky. She has also performed as Helena in John Neumeier’s A Midsummer Night's Dream and Princess Louise in Sir Kenneth MacMillan's Mayerling. Roles were created for her in Stanton Welch’s Zodiac, Just, and Sparrow, Arthur Pita’s Good Vibrations, and Justin Peck's Reflections.

Donatelli’s tours include Welch's Swan Lake in Tokyo, Dubai, and Minneapolis (2018, 2022); Velocity in Bonn and Tapestry in Ludwigshafen, Germany (2017); and Just and Sons de L'âme at Jacob’s Pillow (2018). For Houston Ballet’s 50th Anniversary in 2019, she performed her original role in Reflections at New York City Center.
