Kate Blackston is a senior at Hardin Valley Academy and has played violin for ten years. This is her third season with the KSYOA and she currently studies under Julie Belanger-Roy. She has completed over one hundred hours of community service in high school as a member of the National Honors Society and Mu Alpha Theta, along with being recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction. Kate also competed as a swimmer and a track athlete during her high school career. After she graduates, she will attend the University of Tennessee Knoxville to major in Neuroscience. She is very grateful to her family, violin teachers, and conductors for their support during her time as a musician.
