Stephanie Gubin (she/her, ensemble/Julie U/S) is an operatic soprano from the northern suburbs of Chicago and a student of baritone Jeffery Ray. She received her bachelor’s degree in music performance from the DePaul University School of Music and has recently returned to DePaul to pursue her masters in vocal performance. Highlights from her time with DePaul Opera Theater include Lehar’s THE MERRY WIDOW(Sylviane); Britten’s THE BEGGAR’S OPERA(Suky Tawdry); Cavalli’s L’EGISTO (L’Aurora), and Mozart’s LE NOZZE DI FIGARO (Barbarina). She also had the honor of performing in a masterclass led by Ana Maria MArtinez. She has also sung with opera programs abroad, such as the Berlin Opera Academy, where she performed the role of “Second Lady” in Mozart’s THE MAGIC FLUTE, and Cicily, where she performed the role of “Mussetta” in Puccini’s LA BOHEME, with the Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival. Most recently, she performed the role of “Greta Fiorentino” in DePaul Opera Theater’s production of STREET SCENE, by Kurt Weill. She is thrilled to be performing with Music Theater Works.
