Raleigh Dance Theatre (RDT) is an affiliate performance company of The Raleigh School of Ballet comprised of dancers selected through open auditions. RDT is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides professional performance training to qualified dancers and promotes and fosters dance awareness in the Triangle. Formed in 1984 as a pre-professional ballet company, RDT is an honor company of the prestigious Regional Dance America/Southeastern Regional Ballet Association. RDT presents two public performances annually, in fall and spring, performs two or three times a year as part of regional dance festivals, and offers community outreach programs (e.g., lecture-demonstrations at public libraries and elementary schools in Wake and Durham counties, badge workshops with Girl Scouts-NC Coastal Pines).
