Clara Yang

Clara Yang has performed with the North Carolina Symphony for classical concerts in Raleigh, Chapel Hill, New Bern, and elsewhere, as well as for The Carnival of the Animals in 2019.


Clara Yang is Associate Professor of Music and Head of Keyboard Studies at UNC-Chapel Hill and appears internationally as a concert soloist, in recital, and at music festivals. In 2016, she performed the world premiere of the piano concerto Four Spirits, written for her by Chen Yi, with the China Philharmonic Orchestra. Her solo album Folding Time was released in 2015.

Dr. Yang’s students have won prizes in state, national, and international competitions. She received her doctorate in piano performance at the Eastman School of Music, and also holds degrees from the Yale School of Music and the University of Southern California.
