This concert is the North Carolina Symphony debut for Swearingen & Kelli.
Swearingen & Kelli transport audiences back to the golden age of the 1970s, faithfully recreating the magic of timeless classics by iconic artists such as Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, Simon & Garfunkel, Cat Stevens, Roberta Flack, Carole King, John Denver, Fleetwood Mac, and more.
AJ Swearingen, born in Bethlehem, PA, and Jayne Kelli, a native of Lapeer, MI, fused together as a duo in 2012. Since then, their siren harmonies and songwriting have led to four albums together, earning them features on The Bluegrass Situation, Americana Highways, Wide Open Country, Gretsch Guitars, and more. Red Line Roots praised their approach as "beautiful and rare...one others would do well to emulate down the road." With songs heavily nodding to the folk and country of the '60s and '70s, they've shared the stage with legends like Kenny Rogers and Crystal Gayle and folk icons like Tom Rush and David Bromberg.
