Program Overview

By JoAnn Falletta, Music Director

An unlikely “pair” of great composers, this duo gives us two powerhouse pieces that will rock Kleinhans Music Hall! After decades of musical superstardom in the movie and television world, Danny Elfman decided to begin composing works for orchestra, with blazing success. His concerto for Colin Currie is a virtuoso showpiece for this amazing artist.

What could follow a tour de force like Danny and Colin? We chose one of our favorite symphonies—Tchaikovsky’s fifth—a masterpiece of romantic beauty and overwhelming joy. Definitely a do-not-miss concert!
