A cult favorite, a thrilling orchestral and choral tour-de-force, an unforgettable masterpiece—Carmina Burana is back at Kleinhans! This glorious work is centered around poems of the Middle Ages, songs extolling the delights of our lives: the joys of spring, the pleasures of eating and drinking, and the magic of falling in love. But wrapped around the work is the famous “O Fortuna,” telling us that we never know where life will take us. I love this piece—it reminds me that our 13th-century ancestors were not very different from us at all. The moral of the story? That we should fill our lives with joy every day. Celebrate spring with the BPO, the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus, the Buffalo Girlchoir, three fabulous soloists, and Carmina Burana!
