Where East Meets West in Perfect Harmony
CelloGayageum is more than a duo—it’s a musical journey across continents, cultures, and centuries.
Founded in 2016 by Austrian cellist Sol Daniel Kim and Korean gayageum player Dayoung Yoon, CelloGayageum bridges the soulful depth of Western classical music with the distinctive beauty of Korean gugak (traditional music). Inspired by Berlin’s Pavilion of Unity, this unique collaboration celebrates the connections between instruments, histories, and people.
Through original compositions rooted in Korean folk melodies and infused with global influences, CelloGayageum creates a sound that is both deeply rooted in tradition and refreshingly contemporary.
