Enjoy a free pre-show discussion panel from 7–7:30 PM with conductor Emil deCou, NASA Earth Science Division Director Dr. Karen M. St. Germain, and NASA Chief Scientist and Senior Climate Advisor Dr. Kate Calvin at the Associates Pavillion.
Also, visit with the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum, the National Symphony Orchestra, and DarkSky who will be set up on the Filene Center Plaza before the show.
Gaze in wonder as breathtaking NASA images and footage are projected onto a giant screen, complementing Holst’s awe-inspiring masterpiece: The Planets. Full feature film will be projected in HD onto screens in-house and on the lawn and accompanied by the music of a live symphony orchestra.
The first part of the program features stellar young pianist Alexander Malofeev, who joins the orchestra to perform Rachmaninoff's famous Piano Concerto No. 2—an irresistible favorite brimming with sheer romantic drama and show-stopping thunder.
