Swearingen & Kelli made their debut with the North Carolina Symphony in 2024, performing the songs of the '70s at UNC Health Summerfest.
Swearingen & Kelli transport audiences back to the golden age of the 1970s, faithfully recreating the magic of timeless classics by iconic artists such as Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, Simon & Garfunkel, Cat Stevens, Roberta Flack, Carole King, John Denver, Fleetwood Mac, and more.
She was a Michigan-raised songwriter with a siren voice; he, a Pennsylvania native shaped by years on stage and a lifelong reverence for 1970s songwriting. They met at a songwriters club in Florida and quickly formed an unbreakable bond, married in Punta Cana and headed for Nashville. Together, they’ve spent the last decade writing, recording, and touring across the country.
Their sound—rich in the spirit of the '60s and '70s songwriter era—has carried across four original albums and earned praise from The Bluegrass Situation, Americana Highways, Gretsch Guitars, and Wide Open Country, who said the duo sounds “as good as John Prine with Bonnie Raitt on ‘Angel From Montgomery.’” They've shared the stage with folk icons like Tom Rush and David Bromberg as well as country legends Kenny Rogers and Crystal Gayle.
This year, Jayne Kelli begins a new solo chapter—including the unveiling of her first original solo release, Way Too Low.
