Originally from Memphis, Wydell formed and directed his first choir comprised of some of his high school classmates. After graduation he earned an undergraduate degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C. While there, he accompanied the Howard Gospel Choir and composed a song and played for their 25th Anniversary Live Recording in1994. He also worked with several church choirs and artists in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area. He later studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied piano and majored in Music Production and Music Business. He has accompanied and arranged for choirs in the United States as well as Northern Germany, Paris, and the Philippines.
Wydell has worked as a music teacher for the last 8 years, while also working as a professional pianist/organist, producer, and composer on projects for others and himself. He released his first CD called “Seasons” in 2002. His latest project is entitled “Second Wind”. He and his wife, Jacqueline, are the proud parents of one daughter.
