Charles is honored to be the Designate Artistic Director of Santa Cruz Shakespeare, where he will take over the role full time after the ’23 season. Previously with SCS: Undiscovered Shakespeare: Troilus & Cressida, as well as four seasons with Shakespeare Santa Cruz, roles included Romeo and Henry V. Regional: American Players Theatre, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Clarence Brown Theatre, The Denver Center, three seasons with Shakespeare Festival St. Louis, and many more. Charles is the founding Artistic Director of The Porters of Hellsgate Theatre Company where he’s directed: Cymbeline, Pericles, Henry V, Timon of Athens, Merry Wives of Windsor, Troilus & Cressida, Comedy of Errors, R&G Are Dead, Richard II, Loves Labour’s Lost, Much Ado About Nothing, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Richard III, Twelfth Night, Julius Caesar; awards and nominations include Ovation, Valley Theatre, Broadway World, and Scenie.
