About the Show

With phenomenal music, memorable characters, and great storytelling, Jersey Boys follows the fascinating evolution of four blue-collar kids who became one of the greatest successes in pop-music history. This musical documentary takes you behind the music of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons to discover the secret of a 40-year friendship as the foursome work their way from the streets of New Jersey to the heights of stardom. The show includes such chart-topping hits including “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” “Dawn,” and “My Eyes Adored You,” which brought The Four Seasons the highest honor: induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Jersey Boys premiered in California at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego in October of 2004. The show opened at Broadway’s August Wilson Theatre on Nov. 6, 2005, and played for 4,642 performances before closing on Jan. 15, 2017. Currently, Jersey Boys ranks No. 13 on the list of the longest-running Broadway shows. Since its 2005 Broadway debut, the show has gone on the road with two North American national tours and also two national tours of the United Kingdom and Ireland. The show has been produced in London's West End, Las Vegas, Chicago, Toronto, Melbourne and other Australian cities, Singapore, South Africa, the Netherlands, Japan, Dubai, and China. Jersey Boys won four 2006 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and the 2009 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical. The stage show inspired a film adaptation in 2014, which was directed by Clint Eastwood. Just months after its Broadway closing, the show opened off Broadway at New World Stages in November of 2017. The COVID-19 pandemic interrupted the show in March of 2020, pausing performances for one year and eight months. The show reopened in November of 2021 and continued performances through May of 2022.
