We have been so excited about this concert for months and we are so happy that the time is finally here!
We are always delighted to feature our UK Opera “Stars” and to give you the opportunity to experience them first, before they graduate and make their mark in the operatic, artistic, and educational world. You will also find in our digital program a list of where some of our former UK stars are in what they are doing. I think you will agree that it is a list that any conservatory or university program would be extremely proud to boast! You should also know that this list is not a total list! We are working to keep in touch with all our alumni and celebrate their successes as artists, educators, and people, as they bring honor and pride to UK.
I’m always excited to be able to collaborate with the UK Symphony Orchestra and Maestro John Nardolillo on every UK Opera Theatre project and today’s event is no different! We are so fortunate to have an orchestra of this caliber right in our midst! Stars of Tomorrow Opera Gala is also exciting because we have the opportunity to partner with KET on this concert. KET will film all of the performances and then fashion them into a PBS special that will be offered to other PBS stations throughout the United States. How exciting for our students to be able to be featured in such a way locally and nationally!
We can’t do this without our artistic, university, and community partners. Thanks to OperaLex for their continued to support, the Lexington Opera House Fund, the administration of University of Kentucky, and you, our beloved audience. Your support has helped make UK Opera Theatre one of the top young artist training programs in the country.
As you are making your philanthropic decisions, we hope that you will remember the work of UK Opera Theatre and our desire to train and educate the next generation of young artists. We are proud to be able to present this concert for you! We hope you enjoy!

When Dr. McCorvey approached KET about filming the Gala, we were happy to have the opportunity to share such a wonderful event beyond the seats of this historic theater.
We believe everyone should be able to enjoy and be enlightened by the arts. That is why KET regularly takes viewers to the stages of Broadway, to legendary locales like Ryman Auditorium and Hollywood Bowl, and to concert halls across the globe.
Now it’s our honor to create a televised production of this gala so that it may be enjoyed by audiences near and far.
Through the years, Dr. McCorvey has been a tremendous collaborator with KET. We truly value working with him and the University of Kentucky for programs including It’s a Grand Night for Singing 25th Anniversary, American Spiritual Ensemble and more.
Although there’s nothing quite like an in-person performance, we will do our best to capture the sights, sounds and magic, and hope you will also enjoy watching it on KET later this year.
