2023-24 Season highlights include:

LYFE JENNINGS & J. HOLIDAY (3/30) – The Appell Center and Smash Entertainment present a special Easter weekend concert in the Strand Theatre and the debut of two R&B superstars. Platinum-selling singer/songwriter and producer  Lyfe Jennings, who balances love songs with observations on daily life and romance with songs like “Must Be Nice,” “S.E.X.” and more. Washington, D.C.-based R&B vocalist J. Holiday opens the show with chart-topping hits like “Bed” and “Suffocate.” This is guaranteed to be an unforgettable evening of amazing music and thrilling surprises!

This event features special guests DJ H Vidal and Scarlet Rose.

STEP AFRIKA! (4/12) – The first professional company dedicated to the tradition of stepping returns to the Appell Center for the first time since 2017, blending percussive dance styles, traditional African dances and contemporary dance and art forms into a powerful artistic experience. Much more than a dance show, Step Afrika also integrates songs, storytelling, humor and audience participation.

COME FROM AWAY (4/19) - The Glatfelter Insurance Broadway Series continues with Broadway’s Best Musical Winner COME FROM AWAY. This New York Times Critics’ Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.

GLENN MILLER ORCHESTRA (4/27) – Don’t miss the most popular and sought after big band in the world today for both concert and swing dance engagements. With its unique jazz sound, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, formed in 1956, is considered to be one of the greatest bands of all time.

PLENA LIBRE (5/4) – Thrilling audiences around the world for nearly three decades, these masters of traditional Puerto Rican plena and bomba styles fuse mesmerizing hand drumming, stellar horns and soaring vocal harmonies with modern Afro-Caribbean sounds, putting an electrifying spin on this already exhilarating music.

President & CEO, Todd Fogdall says: “We are thrilled to announce the first shows in our 2023-24 season, with a list that touches a wide range of musical genres, plus comedy, celebrities, our first podcast-based show and some huge Broadway titles -- The Book of Mormon, Come From Away  and The Cher Show. Tickets are going to move fast and we encourage our guests to become a Member so they can assure their tickets to the many shows that are yet to come.”
