SAMANTHA FISH

Over the course of her career as an award-winning artist, singer/songwriter/guitarist Samantha Fish has brought extraordinary power to her self-expression, capturing her inner world in combustible riffs, visceral rhythms, and spine-tingling vocal work. Although she is often cited as a blues artist, in truth her music could be said to incorporate multiple genres, including rock, country, funk, bluegrass and ballads.

Growing up in Kansas City, MO, her first instrument was the drums, but at 15 she turned her energy to mastering the guitar. In 2009, at the age of 20, she recorded and produced a live album, Live Bait, and in 2011 she released Runaway which garnered her the 2012 Blues Music Award for Best New Artist, and kicked her music career into high gear.

In the ensuing years, she has achieved over 21 “Best” awards, including 11 in 2018 alone, such as the following Best of the Beat Awards: Artist of the Year, Best Guitarist, Best Blues Performer, and Best Female Vocalist, Samantha’s 11th album, Faster, was released in 2021 on Rounder Records.

JD SIMO

JD Simo’s talent has no boundaries. His love of music is just that—a love of ALL music—and he has mastered every genre he’s explored. His remarkable talent and versatility has led to recording sessions with artists including Beyoncé, Dolly Parton, Tommy Emmanuel, Jack White, Joe Bonamassa, The War and Treaty, Chris Isaak and Stevie Nicks. Simo has also been blessed to share the stage with folks like Tab Benoit and the Grateful Dead’s Phil Lesh, and collaborate with Blackberry Smoke, Luther Dickinson and Anson Funderburgh. As a further testament to the depth of his talent, the world of film came calling when Simo was chosen to flesh out and perform every single guitar note on the soundtrack to Baz Lurhman’s film Elvis.

Like many artists and creators during the COVID shutdown, Simo found a liberating outlet through social media, releasing a relentless treasure of exploratory jams from “The House of Grease.” With each installment he reached a growing audience of roots music fans as well as guitar gearheads wanting the latest on that JD Simo rig rundown. While this tour will feature songs from his recently released album, Songs From the House of Grease, fans will also be rewarded as Simo digs deep into the inspiration he has found in everything from Afrobeat to Maxwell Street era Chicago Blues, from soulful funk jams to psyched out jazz-rock.
