Welcome back to the 53rd Annual Hampton Jazz Festival presented by Coliseum Central. We’re so thrilled to have Hampton’s longstanding celebration of all things jazz, R&B, pop, soul and blues return for another great year.
In 2020 when COVID-19 hit, we were devastated for our community. The widespread shut down unfortunately affected millions of families worldwide, including those in the great City of Hampton. For the first time in more than 50 years, we weren’t able to provide our annual tradition of hosting the jazz festival – a festival that brings families, friends, and visitors so much joy.
Although the effects of COVID-19 saddened us, we realized that it made us stronger as a community. During that time, we were able to lean on each other for support, help those in need, and rebuild ourselves better than ever.
We thank you for returning to Hampton this year to share your special life occasions with us and making this festival part of the fabric of your lives.
While you are here enjoying the three-day jazz festival celebration, you may want to include other exciting attractions and activities around Hampton in your plans. Take a tour with the Hampton Roads Harbor Tour aboard the Hampton Queen, visit the Virginia Air & Space Science Center, or take a tour around Hampton University – where the jazz festival first started – and visit the HU Museum. The museum dates back to 1868 and features a collection of more than 9,000 works of art and cultural artifacts.
Hampton also has a wide range of shopping and culinary opportunities that include an appealing range of retailers and restaurants from national favorites to boutiques unique to our city. You will find these treasures in Downtown Hampton, Phoebus, Coliseum Central, and the Peninsula Town Center. These areas feature an array of nationally-acclaimed businesses that you will only find in Coastal Virginia.
We’re so glad to be returning once again to the 53rd Annual Hampton Jazz Festival. We can’t wait to see everyone reunite and enjoy this fun-packed weekend. Revive, relax, and relish this weekend!
Sincerely,
Donnie R. Tuck |
